Where to enable Encryption with Data Protector to protect customer Data on tape ?

 

Is it a licensed feature ?

Hi,

 

Yes, you need licenses for each server.

 

and you actived encription here .

 

on backup properties -Options- second Advanced -Other Date Security

Assuming that client side encryption is what is desired here.

If the customer has Ultrium-4 or later tape drives, the customer can enable device side encryption.

Go to the tape drive in Data Protector and go to Settings -> Advanced and checkmark drive-based encryption.

Drive encryption does not have the additional licensing requirements and does not have the operating system and integration support limitations of client side encryption.
