Re: Error on our SAP Backup

Hi,

please check if name resolution is working (most problems are related to it). In addition check if firewall is enabled on W2K8 server.

Best regards

Daniel

Re: Error on our SAP Backup

Would it be name resolution if I do  a check installation and it completes succefully from the Cell Manager?

Re: Error on our SAP Backup

Hi,

yes, name resolution could be still a problem when on you SAP server the cell server cannot be resolved. So please check:

- on cell server: nslookup <sapserver>, nslookup <sapserver -FQDN>, nslookup <IP adress of sapserver>

- on cell server: telnet <sapserver> 5555

- on sap server: nslookup <cell server>, nslookup <cell server -FQDN>, nslookup <IP adress of cell server>

- on sap  server: telnet <cell server> 5555

Let me know the results.

Best regards

Daniel

Re: Error on our SAP Backup

I am now able to do a File System backup. I forgot to mention that this is a Hyper - V host server can this cause the problem with the SAP backup.

Re: Error on our SAP Backup

Hi Bobby,

SAP backup is not working? If filesystembackup is running, then at least you fixed any name resolution problems.

Please try to configure the SAP Backup again (delete old one and start from scratch) and try to start a backup. Hyper-V should not be the problem.

Best regards

Re: Error on our SAP Backup

Thanks we see the problem. DP is not able to read the database. So it must be the way our server is setup. We are still working on it.
