Data protector Raw Device Mapping backup

Hi,

Can you backup a vDisk that is presented (EVA6400) to both the Source Application Server and to the Backup Server?

So the vDisk is presented to a VM using RAW LUN. And we also presented to the Backup Server and then backup the data (locally) from the backup server?

Re: Data protector Raw Device Mapping backup

Yep, physical RDMs are just skipped in the backup since they are not effected by VMWare Snapshots. No backup application is able to created backups of physical RDMs at the moment. vRDM is supported with DP 6.21 and later.

Sebastian
