HP LJ 3600n Err 54.15

I have a 3600n that when turned on gives a 54.15 error and displays "power off then on to clear error". I do this but get the error again and cannot clear it. What does this error indicate? The printer is out of warranty.

Re: HP LJ 3600n Err 54.15

the manual does'nt mention much about this error.and this error varies from printer to printerwhere it sometimes can be a motor error.but on this kind of machine(verticle inline structure),i believe it mostly refers to a color plane registration/density sensor error.where a 54.15 error would more specifically refer to the yellow toner sensor.you could try to do a full calibration from the printer or clean the density sensor.or even the cartridge slot contacts.it's possible that if you disable the cartridge check from the diagnostics menu,it may temporarily clear this error ;(just to test it and see if it's related).

Re: HP LJ 3600n Err 54.15

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I cannot do what you asked, because the error message won't go away. I did find the manual for the 3600n at: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=30729

I have found some answers that may help.

also;you may find some additional options if you can access an embedded web server by typing in the printer's IP into your web browser http field.
