We just had TRIM 220.127.116.119 installed for testing. When I add a new record to a folder it is added to the bottom of the list of records in the folder instead of at the top.
How can I set it so the newest record added to a folder always appears at the top of the listing (newest record number on top)? This is how users are used to it in our current 6.24.

Thanks for your reply. The default column sort for our current TRIM 6.24 was set up for us and I don't know how to set a default.
Basically when I add a record it's added to the bottom of the list of records under a folder. I know this will cause a problem with users so I'd just like to set it up so records are ordered so the most recent records are added automatically to the top. I imagine this is a record number setting?

When you have your record search open, right-click in the search window and select > Search > Refine Search.
Go to the SORT tab and you can select the sort order you want to use, then tick the 'Save as default' option on the bottom.
See if those options help?

Thanks, that works well for search results, but what I'd like to modify is the order in which records appear in the default tree view of classifications and folders.
Basically, when I open TRIM - Browse via classifications - find the classifications I have access to - expand a folder to view the records contained - save a new record into the folder = the new record is added at the very bottom of the expanded list of records in the folder instead of at the top. In 6.24, the records were added at the top by default in descending order. In 7.1.2 records are added in ascending. The user has to doubleclick on the folder to be able to customize their view and sort columns. The Classification Title/Record Details column cannot be sorted. I have a feeling users will think their records have not saved if they can't see the newest on top so I'm hoping to copy the settings from 6.24. Not sure if this is a limitation of 7.1.2?

Hi, anyone know if this is resolved?
We upgraded to 7.3.4 from 6.2.5 and Browse via Classifications and then displaying the Containers within thhe Classification is showing the oldest Container first.
Our workaround is for the user to save the Classification as a Favourite and then display the single Classification and sort the Containers.

It is not an issue in RM8 so if you were looking to upgrade at some stage that could be a solution. I also believe there is an option to change to sort order in RM8.
For 7.3 there is a known issue reported under:
QCCR2D48787 The sort order of records in Classification changed in client 7.2 and 7.3

Go to the SSO website http://support.openview.hp.com/support.jsp
- Select the Advanced Self-solve knowledge search link in the Home Tab.
- Log in using your HP Passport’s User ID and Password.
- In the HP Software Product manuals page select the following:-
- Optional: Enter keyword(s) or phrases =.
- Product = TRIM
- Product version = version number e.g.. 7.10
- Operating system = All Operating Systems
- Document types: select Known problems
- Press the “Search” button.
- At the bottom of the Website will the documents returned from the search.

Found the fix and it works in 7.3.4. I suppose it should work in 7.1 as well.
Apparently if you do any search and then Refine the Search and in the Sort tab, sort by Date Created (descending) and tick the box to 'Save as default sort fields', if you go back to the Browse via Classifications, the Containers will now display newest to oldest.
