In our environment we are using the HPCA client version 7.80 currently and going to upgrade to 7.81
Please share if you have any document regarding the steps to upgrade the HPCA client version.

Are ypu talking about "applying" 7.80.1 patch ? If yes then please contact HPCa support to get the latest CP. 7.80.1 is extremely old and you may miss quite a few of the fixes done on 7.80 .

One example of installation of an Agent patch could be...
Installing the version 7.80.2 patch
1 Back up your system.
2 Download the patch file.
3 Extract the import.txt, ClearZSTOP.tcl, .xpi and .xpr contents of the .zip file into the HP Configuration Management Configuration Server (CM Configuration Server) \bin directory. The default location is:
– C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\CM\ConfigurationServer\bin
The patch zip also contains modules.zip, the binaries included in modules.zip is for convenience only. Hewlett-Packard recommends that you use self-maintenance to deploy the entire patch.
4 Stop the HPCA Configuration Server service (ZTOPTASK).
5 Take a backup of the entire HPCA Configuration Server Database (HPCA CSDB).
6 For Client Automation Standard/Starter see the instructions for removing ZSTOP expressions.
7 Open a command prompt, change directories to \bin, and run the command:
ZEDMAMS ZFILE IMPORT.TXT.
8 Check the zedmams.log file to verify that each of the packages returns with either rc=4 or rc=0.
9 Restart the HPCA Configuration Server service (ZTOPTASK).
Removing ZSTOP expression for deployment on CAE environment
1 Open the HPCA Admin CSDB editor
2 Navigate to the PRIMARY.PRDMAINT.PACKAGE Class and open the package that needs to be installed. For example, RAM_WIN32_ALL_<CurrentVersion>
3 Clear the ZSTOP000 value or set the value to 0.

I would recommend you to apply the latest 7.80 patches both for the Agent and the CORE server. You can apply the latest patch without installing previous ones first.
