HP50g Integral expression problem

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with integrals with symbolic. When I enter the expression into EQW :

Integral (0 and l/2) [(q*l/2*x - q*x^2/2)*x/2) dx] + Integral(l/2 and l) [(q*l/2*x - q*x^2/2) * (l/2 - x/2) dx]

and try to EVAL, appears this error message:

"EVAL ErrorUndefined Name"

i have FLAGS:

01 Principal value   or  01General solutions

02 Constant -> symb

03 Function -> symb

105 Approx. mode on

should give me : " (5*q*l^4) / 384"

What can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

The problem is flag -105. You currently are in approximate mode; you must be in exact mode for symbolic work like this.

Either clear flag -105, or use the shortcut: If you press and hold down the right-shift key, then each press of the ENTER key toggles between approx and exact mode.  You can see which mode you're in at the top of the status area, just to the left of the middle:  "=" means you're in exact mode, and "~" means you're in approximate mode.

Hope that helps!
