Your mobile app doctor is in! A first look at the AppPulse mobile hands-on lab at HP Discover

Do you know how to diagnose the health of your mobile applications using your iPhone or Android smartphone?

Twelve hard-working students got to play doctor during the first hands-on lab for AppPulse mobile at HP Discover in Las Vegas. We call our lab “Your Mobile App Doctor Is On Call,” and even wear medical lab coats.

apppulse 2.jpgI think these are some of the best sessions at HP showcases, because customers get a chance to see for themselves how to implement a mobile application and troubleshoot performance. The first cohort of students really dug in and gave excellent feedback.

Everyone was able to get their first application instrumented and witnessed the value of AppPulse mobile. A few of the comments we heard:

apppulse 1.jpg“Easier than I thought was possible.”

“We need to use this to improve the apps in our company.”

 “I like the drag-and-drop feature.”

During the hands-on session, we instrumented an HP-developed Advantage Mobile Banking application, and then used AppPulse mobile to monitor its performance and stability.

Some students went the extra mile and took their corporate apps or favorite personal app to see the results.

In all, 16 applications were a created and monitored:

Don’t miss your chance to learn for yourself how to monitor, report and diagnose the availability and performance problems that your mobile application might encounter based on location, carrier, device type, or OS.

I’m hosting two more hands-on labs:

  • Wednesday, Jun 11, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in Sands 103
  • Thursday, Jun 12, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in Sands 103

If you have not yet registered and have some time, just drop by to claim an empty seat!

Don't worry if you aren't at HP Discover, you can still experience AppPulse Mobile for yourself. We are currently running a public beta of AppPulse Mobile, and we would love your input.
