Top 5 ways operations analytics harnesses Big Data--What customers are saying at HP Discover

Guest post by Peretz Regev, R&D Director for Big Data Analytics

Big Data.pngFrom my perspective in R&D, one of the best parts of being here at HP Discover in Barcelona is the chance to meet directly with the customers who use our products and get their feedback about how it helps their organizations.

Earlier today I sat in on a Special Interest Group session for Operations Analytics, one of the Business Service Management products my team develops. The session included presentations from five customers.

Here’s what I heard as the top five ways Operations Analytics helps IT organizations get more out of Big Data:

  1. Paradigm shift in how they collect, store and analyze all data — Continuously and automatically gathers and indexes all data for easy analysis

  2. Single pane of glass view — The Operations Analytics dashboard lets them see everything in one neat and functional place

  3. Common language between IT and the business — Translates data into actionable information

  4. Ability to visualize the data — Graphically displays complex data sets in a simple, efficient and meaningful way

  5. Data correlation between all sources, in a specific time window — Allows teams to uncover trends, recreate events and pinpoint root causes

I’m looking forward to continuing to get feedback from customers and hear how Operations Analytics is changing how IT organizations use Big Data.
