Unable to remove numlock

[ Edited ]

I'm running NT 4.0 on a VEi8 and even though in setup (F2) the numlock is on "on", it doesn't actually turn on when I get to Winnt! Any ideas?

Re: Unable to remove numlock

Hello Louise,
Can you give me some additional infos about your PC, like BIOS for example?
Anyway, you have to check your BIOS settings first...

Re: Unable to remove numlock

To enable NUM LOCK before a user logs on, use the steps below:
Run Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Navigate to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard.
Change the value for InitialKeyboardIndicators from 0 to 2.

Re: Unable to remove numlock

Hi! Howard here, If you've upgrade your operating system(s) 1x or 2x from say Win95,
you may have; a file called "config.sys" in
your windows folder. If you open/edit this file
you may find 1 line thats says; "numlock on".
You can enable/disable it by typing ; in the 1st column immediately before that line. Save
your file as config.sys (overwrite = yes).Then
reboot! See if this helps you!
There's always a Better Way!
