No keyboard or mouse input to HP D510 Convertible Minitower

[ Edited ]

How can I determine what is wrong with this HP D510 Convertible Minitower PC? Input from the keyboard and mouse are not causing any changes to appear on the monitor. I have tried a different keyboard, mouse, and monitor that I know are OK, but the p[roblem persists. The mouse and keyboard ports are connected directly to the mainboard, not through an adapter card. When I start the PC, the Windows XP Pro splash screen appears, but I cannot proceed because no input is sensed by the PC from the keyboard or mouse.

If they are USB (keyboard and mouse) then check your USB in your bios to be sure it is seeing the devices during boot up. There is usually a setting for a USB keyboard.
