dc7900 crashing. Missing firmware update for harddrive st3500320as ?

Hello.

We have issues with crashes of dc7900, mostly under heavy load when running virtual machines, for example Windows XP(fully patched) with VirtualPC 2007sp1.

Does HP have any plan to release an updated firmware for the harddrive st3500320as ?

Seagate provides one under http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=207951

You can find error reports under http://forums.seagate.com/stx/board/message?board.id=ata_drives&message.id=3283&query.id=202577#M328... and (in german) under http://www.heise.de/resale/meldung/Seagate-stellt-Firmware-Updates-fuer-fehlerhafte-Laufwerke-bereit...

The page http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=de&cc=de&prodNameId=3785037&... does not list any updates for the st3500320as

Problem has been existing a long time, but we are bidding for a contract which will easily triple the number of dc7900. We are a service provider, our customers are not happing paying for crashing machines. They simply do not care who is responsible.

Thanks & Bye.
