Win2k / Professional Workstation 6000

I get STOP errors trying to install Windows 2000 on a Professional Workstation 6000. The error is 0x000000D1 IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in the symc8xx.sys driver (apparently the scsi controller). Tried using F6 to load different drivers from LSI's site, but that won't work (different error). Have upgraded the BIOS and tried different versions of the o/s without any luck.

Re: Win2k / Professional Workstation 6000

The symc8xx.sys is the correct driver for the controller (SYM53C875J) which appears to be on the HCL on Microsoft's site; this driver is coming FROM the Windows 2000 disk and I am installing to a blank formatted partition on the first hard drive. There are no "third-party filter drivers, such as backup programs, virus scanning programs, and disk utilities" to disable.
