PCI Simple Communications Controller driver for HP compaq dc7800p

I am having so much difficulty getting the driver of the PCI simple communications controller for an XP HP dc7800p system installed. I have installed all the drivers I got from HP site but still cannot get this to work.

Hi,

You need the Intel HECI driver:

You should also get the AMT LMS/SOL driver:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12...

Sorry to say that I tried to install both drivers and got an error saying the operating system is not supported (Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit).

Sounds like an error message from the installer. Can you see the individual driver files, or they all packaged together? If you can extract them, then you force the driver to upgrade through Device Manager and point it to the right file path.

Manually installing it worked. Don't know why I didn't think of that before. It was the Intel Management Engine Interface.
