I am in the process of installing a NetAdapter "INTEL INTEL GIGABIT CT DESKTOP BULK MANAGEABLE SINGLEPORT PCI-E"
in a HP Compaq dc7700p Convertible Minitower.
During reboot the PC halts after RAM test and the text:
Initializing Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.40
PXE 2.1 Build 085 (WfM 2.0), RPL V1.32
Removing the new adapter allows a reboot.
Now I want to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version "1.16 Rev. A (11 Oct 2011)",
but I have not found a way to make a backup of the current BIOS.
Do someone know how to make a backup of the current BIOS (just in case the new one does not work) ?
PS: If someone have information about the compatibility between the HP Compaq dc7700p Convertible Minitower
and the Intel net adapter, please let me know.

Thank you for you post,
To Back-up the Current BIOS, please go to BIOS setup, under File >> Replicated Setup and press F10 key Save the BIOS configuration into Removable media
Also you use the Restore from Removable Media to restore the old settings back
I work for HP.

Thank you for you reply but:
The above procedure makes backup of the BIOS settings NOT the BIOS program itself.
I was searching for a procedure to backup the old BIOS program in order to flash the old
version back, if the new proved not to work.
I have allready upgraded the BIOS and installed the net adapter. Both are working as expected.
During this operation I read in the Intallation instructions or Release Notes,
that would be no possible return to the old BIOS.
This worries me, since I have experiences from the past of new BIOS'es, that dit not work.
(This ment a visit to a Service Center with financial consequenses :-( )
