HP dc7900 video card upgrade

What is the best graphics card i could upgrade my hp compaq dc7900 with? i need to be able to run two monitors with the focus on photo editing and video playback, not gaming. Thanks.

Re: HP dc7900 video card upgrade

AST HD 2400 XT will give you dual monitors...

You need the Y cable for it though...

Also the Nvidia Quadro series works too.

Re: HP dc7900 video card upgrade

thanks for the reply. im leaning more towards the ATI Radeon HD 3650. Do you have any experience with this card? my monitors are DVI and the nVidia cards are displayPort, so i'd rather not buy adapters too.

Re: HP dc7900 video card upgrade

I have both of the cards I mentioned and both require a Y cable for either VGA or DVI support.

I have DVI on both mine and they work great.

The Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 is the better of the 2.

Re: HP dc7900 video card upgrade

The ATI HD3650 will cause a blue screen when installing Windows 7. HP refuses to deal with the issue. The only option is to remove the card before installing the OS. Not an acceptable solution for an enterprise deployment.
