HP DC5700 MT

Can anyone tell me what the unknown device is on my DC5700 MT purchased with Windows XP Pro.
I have re-installed windows and EVERY single driver that was available on HP website under DC5700 but still an unknown device pops up.
It is a standard machine with no extra cards etc so all drivers etc should be from HP site directly.

The device shows as a PCI device:
PCI bus 0, device 27, function 0

I have disabled all onboard USB devices, disconnected all cables where possible in an effort to eliminate but still it is there.
ALL drivers from the DC5700 download site have been installed and still it comes up.

I am at the point that I may never purchase a HP again....
Anyone help would be greatfully received

Re: HP DC5700 MT

Need a little bit more info to help you....

Check your device manager.

In XP, you can look up the device name in the device manager.

Control Panel > System (icon) > hardware (tab) > Device Manager

If there is a yellow mark right click it, select Properties, Details tab...

You Will find a string like this one:

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0007&SUBSYS

copy and paste the entire string and post it here on HP site .... (copy CTRL-C and PASTE CTRL-V)

VEN_ is the vendor and DEV_ is the device model number ...

with that string we can get you the proper driver.

IF you do not see a Details tab:

To configure Device Manager to show details:

Click Start , click Run , type cmd.exe , and then click OK.
Type

set DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS=1

and then press ENTER.

Type

start devmgmt.msc

and then press ENTER
