HP DC5000/ DC511 SFF Bios Power on Option

I recently upgraded the BIOS on a HP DC5100 SFF computer. I am trying to get the unit to Power itself on when the unit is turned off. Even after the BIOS update this feature still does not work. Is there a firmware update for these units for BIOS machine power up option. Or does this opton not work for these units?

Do you mean a WOL setting?

No not wake on lan. This is a setting in the bios that you can set for thepowering up or turning on the PC at a certain day and time.

I haven't seen this option on any HP machine that I have worked on.

For this option you need to upgrade your the Bios on the machine to the latest version.

I've got the same problem with some dc5000 & dc5100 machines. I want the machines to power themselves on at 7:30 AM M-F. The BIOS has a "BIOS Wakeup" function that supposedly provides this service, but I've configured it on a number of machines and it never seems to work. All the machines have the latest BIOS installed. Has anybody had any success getting this to work?

I have found that the best way to ensure a bios restart is to ensure that your shutdown is a clean one, (On my dc5100 SFF and my d530 SFF). Also, I've seen some additional interaction in the "after power loss" recovery option, when you pick "always power off" or such.
