HP D530 - system board 323091-001, BIOS, CPU

I believe this MB supports Intel Chipset 865G HT. Could I upgrade to Intel P4 D 520, dual core? In the BIOS setting (BIOS 786B2.V2.43), does it have HT option? It seems I can't find the HT option.

Rey

This system board is for a D530 CMT and does use the Intel 865G chipset.

I may have missed it but I see no support for dual core processors.

If you have a processor that supports HyperThreading you should have a setting in the BIOS (F10 Setup) to enable or disable HyperThreading. If your processor is not a HyperThreading processor you will not have that option displayed.

Hope this helps.

Rey,
also thinking to upgrade the CPU of my d530 today I spent quite some time checking Intel's website.

The 865G chipset does only support Nortwood and Prescott CPU (wth and without HT).
Later processors like the D-series are not supported.
