HP Compaq dx2450 Microtower Intermitting Network Connection

I seem to be having alot of trouble with my new HP Compaq dx2450 Microtower. Its keeps loosing connection. I have just replaced my old desktop so it is not a network issue. Infrastructure is fine. One minute I will have a connection the next thing it will disconnect. Has anyone ever heard of this problem with this machine, or have any solutions?

Re: HP Compaq dx2450 Microtower Intermitting Network Connection

If you are 100% sure about you r IP connection being OK, I would try a standalone NIC card. They are cheap and will tell you right away if it was the problem.

Did you check the device manager?

try updating the ethernet card driver.

I have to assume you have Vista 32.

You have one of 3 possible brand of NIC cards....

all the drivers are in the link above...

Re: HP Compaq dx2450 Microtower Intermitting Network Connection

Hi Rich,

I am actually using XP Pro. Should this make much of a difference? I have checked the device manager and its telling me that the card is working properly. When I loose connection it is still appearing as connected but nothing is being transfered?
