Ethernet Controller dx 2300

I just reformatted my dx 2300 and the ethernet controller does not work. I installed the Chipset driver first and then the audio driver. I have installed the correct driver from the HP website (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Drivers for Microsoft Windows XP/2000) from

I have read all the threads on this website and no one seems to give a different answers than those above. If you can help please let me know how you got through this

If this driver does not work, time to buy an ethernet add on card.

for XP

Check your device manager.

In XP, you can look up the device name in the device manager.


Control Panel > System (icon) > hardware (tab) > Device Manager

If there is a yellow mark right click it, select Properties, Details tab...

You Will find a string like this one:

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0007&SUBSYS



copy and paste the entire string and post it here on HP site .... (copy CTRL-C and PASTE CTRL-V)

VEN_ is the vendor and DEV_ is the device model number ...

with that string we can get you the proper driver.

I have tried just about everything, so here goes...
