Re: DC7900 - HP invent splash screen

Hi,

Did you recently change your configuration? Do you have USB devices plugged in that you did not before? Can you disconnect drives, add-in cards, USB devices, etc. to get your system to a minimal configuration?

Hope this helps,
Scot

Re: DC7900 - HP invent splash screen

Hello,

Do you have an solution for this problem yet?

I have exactly the same problem with the same machine.

I noticed the problem during reïnstalling the operating system (which is XP-Pro). I tried updatting the bios, but that does not solve this.

The blue screen with HP-logo remains unchanged for 30 seconds. After that the normal messages appear and the machine starts to boot. No vissible activity during the delay.

Hope somebody knows the solution

Re: DC7900 - HP invent splash screen

Hi:

Did you check your POST delay settings in the BIOS?  They can be set for none, 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds.

See page 12 of the Setup Guide toward the top of the page.

Re: DC7900 - HP invent splash screen

During this time can you get any response from the computer? One way to test this is see if the caplock light will turn on.

Is the Hard drive activity light flashing or solid?

Thanks!
