DC7800 WindowsXP: USB camera stops working after hibernation

[ Edited ]

I have a DC7800 bought last year for a digital imaging microscopy project. I have connected a IDS uEye 3-megapixel camera to a USB port. Works fine, except that the next day, the camera USB port is choked up and I cannot get more than 5Mb/s transfer and the camera is not working. If I reboot all is restored to normal. I suspect it has something to do with the power saving/hibernation since if I disable all sleep functions the camera is working as intended even after long time.

What is causing this? Can I change some BIOS setting?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
