DC5800 slow Intel 82566DM-2 adapter problem

Hi,

I have DC5800 basic SFF with 82566DM-2 LAN adapter.

The problem is that its link speed cannot be set to 100Mbps when it's connected to DLINK GO RT 150 router's 100Mbps port. When it's connected to Cisco cable HGW 1Gbps port, it has also 1Gbps speed.

I've used sp44020.exe to upgrade NIC's firmware, but no change in link speed.

What is the solution?

hi, do you want to downgrade your network speed? why? 1gbps is faster than 100 mbps.

Re: DC5800 slow Intel 82566DM-2 adapter problem

sorry :(

I want to use it with DLINK router, but it connects only 10 (ten) Mbps, instead of 100Mbps.

this is the problem.

Hi did you try to change the speed of your network card, under Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center-> change adapter settings, see capture.

Re: DC5800 slow Intel 82566DM-2 adapter problem

Yes, I did, it caused no connection.

And I cannot save unchecked "Reduce link speed to save power" box. Impossible to press "OK" button, the settings window does not disappear, until I check again that box. Terrible....

Re: DC5800 slow Intel 82566DM-2 adapter problem

Problem SOLVED by using earlier Intel LAN PRO2KXP_v14_0.exe driver pack, instead of latest PRO2K3XP_32.exe.

Intel programmers made a bad "latest" driver pack :( .
