Compaq evo d510 sff network drivers

My machine is second hand wiped clean. I am unable to connect to the internet with the onboard ethernet connection. I tried to download drivers without success I don't know if I have the proper driver. I installed a network card which works but I want to connect with the onboard hardware. Thanks

Re: Compaq evo d510 sff network drivers

Andy

You did not say which version of Windows you are using so this is the base driver link for the D510 SFF:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=97130〈=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316517&taskId=135

Install the chipset driver first. I will guess that you want the Broadcom network driver but it could be the Intel.

Hope this helps.

Re: Compaq evo d510 sff network drivers

Thanks John K for your reply. I am using XP pro. I already downloaded the chipset drivers and both the broadcom, and intel network drivers. I"m at a loss.

Andy

First, is Windows Device Manager indicating a problem with the network controller.

Second check in BIOS (F10 Setup) for a setting to enable/disable the onboard network controller. I believe it will be under security settings.

Hope this helps.

Device manager has a question mark at the network controller info; bios has the network controller enabled. I found a driver at the intel web site and it now works. Thanks for your help.

Re: Compaq evo d510 sff network drivers

Hello,
If you still don't have the right driver, here's the download link:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?url=/5406/eng/v6.4_PRO2KXP_only.exe&DwnldID=5406&ag...〈=eng&ProductID=825

If it's not working, search for 82562 on the Intel site and choose the v6.4_PRO2KXP_only.exe file.

Because of the "great" support of HP/Compaq I searched for this at least 1 hour...

Re: Compaq evo d510 sff network drivers

Hi Andy i had the same problem. I tried all four! wrong drivers on the servicepage of HP. If You need the driver, give me a space/adress were i can place it (if there is installed the same intel onboard lan like mine), because it is 100MB big.

Thanks to Andreas! It was really a hard work to find the lan-driver for the compaq D51S. What would we to without people like you!
