Battery change Evo D500 SFF/Back up CMOS?

Well my battery finally died on the old workhorse. Been trying to research how to replace it and the best I could come up with was to back up the CMOS settings, from a downloaded owners manual. Anyone care to walk me through this?

Thanks,

Rick

Re: Battery change Evo D500 SFF/Back up CMOS?

This D500 SFF is using Windows XP Pro, has 2.2GHz P4, 40GB Hard Drive, 1280MB memory. Any other info needed that might be relevant? This unit was stored, unplugged, for about sixteen months.

One more thing. Does anyone happen to know what battery this is? Part number, maybe?

Thanks again,

Rick

Re: Battery change Evo D500 SFF/Back up CMOS?

Battery found, and done. (CR2032) Lithium Disc Cell, 3.0V, 220mAh, 20mm Dia., 3.2mm Height, H.P. Part #319603-001.

Unplugged the machine, replaced the old battery with the new. Plugged it in and hit the reset button. F1 a couple of times during boot, reset the date and time and everything is cool.

Just leaving some info.
