Laserjet 4ML paper won't feed

(Yes it's an old printer, but I like it and am trying to keep it alive.) Today when a job was sent to the printer it began making a shuddering noise and wouldn't grab paper from the paper tray at all. The "D" roller flat side faces down as it should. No system or other changes had been made before this occurred. Any ideas on a possible fix would be much appreciated.

Re: Laserjet 4ML paper won't feed

hi ted .....

your problem , is common problem to all laserjet 4l/ml series .

the only solution for this problem is replace the MAIN MOTOR , why the primary gear for this parts is broken , and when you launch the print it slips and don't move all gear in to the printer .

replace the main motor and you resolve the problem

bye daniele

nothing and died if and not buried :-)
