Laserjet 1200 grinding noise

Hey guys, hope someone can help me. A user has a printer that caused a paper jam, so she cleared it by yanking the paper and now it's making a loud grinding noise.

I know that I need to readjust the gears but I have no idea how to open up the right side of the panel. Can anyone please help me?

Re: Laserjet 1200 grinding noise

1. Open the toner cartridge door.
2. Remove the left side cover by pulling on the notch at the rear
3. Remove the rear cover by removing the screws under the rear output door and pressing down the two release levers behind the door.
4. Now for the right side cover there is one screw at the rear of the printer and 1 tab on the bottom of the printer.

Re: Laserjet 1200 grinding noise

I got a service manual on this particular printer and was able to open the side panels. Thanks for your reply!
