LaserJet 2100m Network Setup

Hi,

I have a Laserjet 2100m and I'm trying to give the printer a specific IP adress required by Windows in order to use it on a network.
The printer is directly connected to a network and works great on Mac OS/9.

Unfortunaly I cannot find any tools or drivers who let me change the internal IP of the printer (which actually is 0.0.0.0).

Any solution under Windows XP ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: LaserJet 2100m Network Setup

Thierry,

Web JetAdmin ver. 7.2 can do this:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=13039&locale=en_US&task...

Please let us know what happens.

Re: LaserJet 2100m Network Setup

Dear Jay,

Thanks for your reply.

I did download the JetAdmin 7.2 and installed it before using this forum, but I had a very hard time trying to give the Printer it's own IP.

Is there any documentation explaining the process ? I did manage to locate the printer on the network using JetAdmin, but could not get to the point to specify an IP. IF there are no documentation, could you explain me quickly the process so at least I know where to look ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: LaserJet 2100m Network Setup

Thierry,

You should see your printer in "Device List", double-click on it.

Should bring you to "Device Status", with a drop-down list. Select "Configuration" from the drop-down list.

Choose "Quick Set", enter your IP addr, subnet mask, and gateway, click the Apply button.

You should get a system reply which says something like "xxx updated".

Power the printer off/on to make the configuration effective.

Press both buttons on top of the printer briefly, at the same time, then release the buttons. Check the pages to make sure the info is correct. The status of the JetDirect should be "I/O CARD READY".

Please let us know.

:-) Jay
