Re: LJ 9050 Service Pin

To be fair guys the pins generally known on the forums and Its easy enough to work it out if you know how.
What problem have you got though? Just asking for the pin seems to have aroused the Xmas spirits of the forum into going all secret ..........

Re: LJ 9050 Service Pin

Didn't mean to silence the spirits. My problem is speed. Tray 2 and 3 are both preprinted pages, tray 4=plain. Our jobs pull from tray 2 then several pages from 4. It will continue to do this until tray 2 empties and it has to pull from tray 3. Once it starts pulling from 3, there is a drastic reduction in speed. The only way the speed can return to normal is if the job is ended and restarted from tray 2. If we start the job with tray 3 empty, it will print at rated speed even if tray 2 empties. We refill tray 2 and continue the job at rated speed. Our problems do not occur until we use tray 3.

Re: LJ 9050 Service Pin

it sounds like the printer believes there is a paper size in tray 3 that is not standard, under those conditions it will indeed change speed.
check your printer driver settings and tray settings.
Also a really good test to identify if it is the printer or external i.e printer driver setting is to run a paper path test, this will exercise that tray and you will be able to check how it performs if you make any adjustment etc.

I would suspect a setting as the first port of call - the pin by the way is 11905004 - this is the Year, model and month the 9050 series was released - just be very careful going into such menus without knowing exactly why you need to be there, as the chinese proverb says "2006 is the year of the dog, use your pin menu wisely or make your printer run like one"

If it ain't simple it ain't worth doing.
