Hp 4250, 60.2 Error

Hi,
For a while now one of the printers we have here on site keeps getting this error, and the tray makes a very noisey clunking sound. I've read that this may be due to a motor spring either broken or fallen off. I've tried everywhere to try and find a picture of some sort of where this is excatly, but there all just plain and not relevant enough. Can someone help....
Many thanks in advance

Re: Hp 4250, 60.2 Error

Hi Emma,

This error is from the tray 2 lifter-motor.

The tray 2 lifter-motor have a spring for tension and contact with tray 2.

I believe this is broken or the tray 2 motor is faulty. in order to change the motor, first verify if the tension spring is ok.

Succes,

Re: Hp 4250, 60.2 Error

Another possibility. The printer expects the paper tray to lift when the motor is engaged. If it does not, the printer sees this as a motor failure just as it sees a paper jam when the paper never leaves the paper tray. I have had many 60.x errors and so far none of them has been a motor failure. Most cases have been defective trays where replacing them has fixed the problem. Once in a while the problem has been the way the paper was put in the tray, in such a way that it would not lift freely. Also, if the backstop is too close so that the paper does not sit flat in the tray it causes lifting problems.
