On a laserjet 4100dn I have a jetdirect card installed but am not able to access the JetDirect menu to configure the card. The EIO Jetdirect menu does not appear at all. When scrolling through the menu options the last menu that appears is the "I/O Menu" instead of "EIO JetDirect Menu".
Is there a way to access this menu? A setting? Should the menu automatically appear when a JetDirect card is detected?

Print your information menu/configuration. The second page should show the EIO 2 or card status? The first page will show if controll panel is locked?
You resets menu should be the last menu option by the way?
Sounds like things are locked out by your administrator.

1. Print a configuration page and check whether the EIO card is recognised or not.
2.Check whether the control panel is locked.
Refer to the following link, to unlock the control panel.
Hope this resolves the issue.

On the config page the control panel lock status is "NONE". The EIO slot show as "EMPTY"..but there is a card in the slot. I'll try reseating the card....

Since the EIO slot is not recognised in the configuration page, to determine whether the Jet direct card or the slot is faulty, perform the following workaround:
1. Reseat the Jet direct card and see whether the issue still persist.
2. Swap the Jet direct card to a different EIO slot and see whether the issue persist.
3. Swap the Jet direct card with a known good jet direct card and see whether the issue persist.
If the issue still persist or the issue is resolved by swapping the jet direct with a known good jet direct card then the issue lies with the faulty jet direct card.
If the issue is resolved by swapping the Jetdirect card to another EIO slot, then the issue lies with the slot.
