Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hi,

is Sitescope 11.01 compatible with DB2 10.x?

I tried to create a new monitor with the available monitor template "DB2 8.x and 9.x" . The connection to the DB2 10.x was successful:

Step 1:Attempting to Locate Driver Class...
Driver Class: com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver LOCATED SUCCESSFULLY!

Step 2:Attempting to Load Driver Class...
Driver Class: LOADED SUCCESSFULLY!

Step 3: Attempting to Connect to Database...
Database: jdbc:db2://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.com:port/database_name Connection ESTABLISHED SUCCESSFULLY!

Step 4: Attempting to Execute Query...
Statement created.
***ERROR***: The supplied Query will not execute because it is either invalid, the table does not exist or some of the columns do not exist.

Status Summary: Error from database driver: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-440, SQLSTATE=42884, SQLERRMC=FUNCTION;SNAPSHOT_LOCK, DRIVER=3.67.26

It can't handle with the standard query select * from table(SNAPSHOT_LOCK('database_name',-1)) as PG, table(SNAPSHOT_APPL_INFO('database_name',-1)) as AI where AI.agent_id = PG.agent_id

Is there a possibility to create a monitor for DB2 10.x?

Thanks & regards,

Meltem

Re: Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hi,

You can try using the database query monitor, but youhave to place a compatible jdbc driver in SiteScope\WEB-INF\lib folder

Also please verify if the account you are using has enough permissons to execute queries over that table.

Re: Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hi,

Check DB2 docs for your error code. -440 means unauthorized:

Re: Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hallo,

thank you for the quick reply.

I have enough permissions to read the DB2 tables.

I want to use the standard counters for DB2 like "Buffer Pool/no counters avilable check snahpshot switches" and the other standard counters.

Is there a possibility to create this counters for DB2 10.x via query monitor? Where can I see the statements behind the standard counters?

Thx and regards,

Meltem

Re: Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hi ,

Sure, you can create DB Query monitor against your DB2 environment
Connection URL - jdbc:db2://<host>:<port>/<database>
Driver - com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver
Also specify username, password and query

Re: Sitescope Monitor DB2 10.x

Hi,

Check SiteScope/template.applications/DB2_Queries.xml file.
