SiteScope 10.11 Create and Deploy new Template

Experts,

I have SiteScope 10.11 and I have 300 or so monitors to create and have decided to use a template. I need the Template to look like the following (see below). When i deploy the template it says that the CPU folder (group) is not unique and only creates a monitor for the first host. Is there a way for me to create all of the monitors in one load and still be able to publish changes after deployment.

Template
Application Name (Group)
CPU (subGroup)
Host 1 (monitor)
Host 2 (monitor)
Memory
Host 1
Host 2
Disk Space
Host 1
Host 2

Re: SiteScope 10.11 Create and Deploy new Template

There are some limitations with templates in 10.x:
- there can't be more than one remote server configured in template
- you can't add monitors to existing groups via template, because it breaks dependency mechanism.

I'd suggest host-oriented approach:
- Host 1
-- CPU
-- Memory
-- Disk Space
- Host 2
-- CPU
-- Memory
-- Disk Space

I've attached a screenshot with such template.

I meant, you can't "merge" existing group and group from template.

You can configure SiteScope to allow templates without groups - only with monitors - you can deploy them in existing groups.

Re: SiteScope 10.11 Create and Deploy new Template

thanks for the advice. That is what I figured, but i wanted to make sure. When creating the template with your recommended folder structure and monitor structure i can get everything to deploy correctly and publish changes. Now i will have to sell the recommended change to IT Leadership and let them know about the tool limitations. Thank you very much for your help.
