Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

[ Edited ]

Hi, experts!

I have a problem with accessing to fresh BSM Connector 9.20.

Description of the problem:
We have BSM 9.20 servers (1 GS + 1 DPS) and 1 BSM Connector server (fresh installation, not upgrade from IntAdapt 9). After installation of Connector we can't access to user web-interface (https://localhost:30000/bsmconnector and http://localhost:30001/bsmconnector) - screenshot in attachment. There are no errors in the log-files except tomcat.log:

"2012-09-18 13:10:44,059 ERROR [Catalina.load (506)] Catalina.start

I place file "serverKeystore" to "C:\HP\BSMConnector\Tomcat\..\groups\" directory from the folder "%HOME_BSM_Connector%\groups", but the problem remains:

I think that problem with post-installation wizard, because installation log "HP BSM Connector Installation log file.mht" contain following error line:

"INFO com.hp.ov.installer.ovapp.core.OvInstaller Exception while reading registryFatal Error , problem executing invokeN Exit Code : -1 ><ERROR : !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **** ERROR: problem executing script : C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\2\OVII_rad071FA.tmp.vbs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

How can I restart post-installation wizard for BSM Connector?

And "HPBSMC_postinstall.log" contain following lines:

"2012-09-19 11:14:42,272 [pool-1-thread-1] (BSMCPortsTask.java:176) WARN - cannot update XPL configuration java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "ovconfchg": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified

Re: Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

I enter the command "netstat -a" in cmd.exe, and in the result list do not specified the port 30000, there is only the port 30001 (state "Listening").

Any suggestion?

Mike.

Re: Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

To re-run post-install/config wizard for BSM Connector you can do the following:

1 . Navigate to %Temp%\HPOvInstaller\BSMConnector_<version>
2. Copy one of the ovinstallparams_<time_stamp>.ini files to %Temp%
3. Rename %Temp%\ovinstallparams_<time_stamp>.ini to %Temp%\ovinstallparams.ini
4. Open a command prompt and run %Temp%\BSMConnector\postinstall_launch_bsmc_config.bat %cd%

The procedure is described in the BSMC 9.20 Release Notes.

Thanks for reply, Dmitriy!

I saw this description in the BSMC 9.20 Release Notes, but the folder %Temp%\BSMConnector was deleted automaticaly with all content after closing post-install wizard and installation window. Searching for this *.bat-file have no results. Is it bug?

Probably I found a solution of this problem, will describe it later after testing.

Re: Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

1.     Stop the “HP BSM Connector” service

2.     Move the existing <BSMConnector_install_dir>\groups\serverKeystore file to another location (say, the desktop)

3.     Open a command prompt window, navigate to <BSMConnector_install_dir>\java\bin and run the following command:

keytool -genkey -dname "CN=www.yourDomain.com, OU=yourDepartment,O=yourCompanyName, L=yourLocation, S=yourState, C=yourCountryCode" -alias yourAlias -keypass changeit -keystore ..\..\groups\serverKeystore -storepass changeit -keyalg "RSA" -validity 10000

In the above command, replace the dname and alias values as needed and make sure the value for storepass is the same as keypass. Also, if the value for storepass and keypass that has been used is anything other than “changeit”, then the same has to added to “<BSMConnector_install_dir>\Tomcat\conf\server.xml

4.    Start BSM connector and confirm that bsmconnector is listening on port 30000 and that the URLhttp://bsm.connector.fqdn.com:30001/bsmc/ now brings up the UI.

Re: Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

for 1. the file should be in this place:

%OvDataDir%/conf/HPOprIA/

and "ports.properties"

should look like this:

#BSM Connector Port Configuration
https.port=30000
http.port=30001

fo 2. i suggest to create a new thread.

Re: Problem with accessing to BSM Connector 9.20

As I suggested, create a new thread for the BSM/Linux problem. Do not create it at the end of an existing one, people will notice it less.
