Problem with BPM running Vugen Script that emulates a log in to BSM 9.12

Hi -

I have recorded a test user logging into BSM 9.12 with Vugen.

When replaying the script in Vugen, it runs to completion with no errors (i.e. Vugen runs to completion with no errors).

However, when I add the script to BAC and deploy it to a BPM, it ALWAYS fails with the following error:

------------------------

Start auto log messages stack - Iteration 1. [MsgId: MMSG-10545]
Action.c(39): Error -27728: Step download timeout (120 seconds) has expired [MsgId: MERR-27728]

--------------------------

The line that fails contains the following code in the script :

------------------------------

web_submit_data("TopazSiteServlet",
"Action=http:///aaaaa.ad.xxx.yyy.com/topaz/TopazSiteServlet",
"Method=POST",
"RecContentType=text/html",
"Referer=http://aaaaa.ad.xxx.yyy.com/topaz/login.jsp",

LAST);

-------------------------------

Vugen (11.00 Build 8859) and the BPM (9.03 Build 170) are on the same Windows 2008 R2 Server.

I have replayed the script with extended logging in Vugen and can see that the following error message occurs

(yes, I know it is in the init.c section where the url is being requested for the first time but I have a feeling that this is where the

problems start...)

--------------------------------

vuser_init.c(14): return;\r\n
vuser_init.c(14): \t}\r\n
vuser_init.c(14): \r\n

vuser_init.c(14): return;\r\n

vuser_init.c(14): \r\n
vuser_init.c(14): \tif (isBr.ie && (typeof(encodeURI) != 'function')){\r\n
vuser_init.c(14): \t alert("The HP Business Service Management web site may not be functioning properly fo
vuser_init.c(14): r the following reason:\\nThe JScript library being used by Internet Explorer is not the r
vuser_init.c(14): equired version.\\nMake sure your browser is using Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 or later."

------------------------------------------

I have commented out a web_add_cookie line in the script, as this was also failing with the same error prior to running the script and obtaining the above error.

Anyone have any suggestions or perhaps themselves tried to generate a Vugen script that monitors/measures logging into BSM 9.12?

Re: Problem with BPM running Vugen Script that emulates a log in to BSM 9.12

Hey, I coded this just now for you and it works. Do not remove this line

web_add_cookie("Topaz_checkBrowser=Test; DOMAIN=abc.def.com");

Add the domain name correctly above. I got one correlation issue which I fixed using the inbuilt scan for correlations option. Try it and let me know

Re: Problem with BPM running Vugen Script that emulates a log in to BSM 9.12

Hi Sujith,

Thanks for the tip.

I tried modifying as you indicated, but I still have a problem with the script not running under the BPM.

Since I will be changing the Authentication Stategy for the installation in a short while, I will put this exercise on hold until I have done so - doesn't make sense to get this to work only to change the authentication methodology behind the logon and potentially have to re-design the script....

Hmm..no problem. If you are ok, you can share the problem/error you see in BPM now else we will meet later.

Re: Problem with BPM running Vugen Script that emulates a log in to BSM 9.12

I have version 11.51 and as soon as I click on any of the Deropdown links such as Admin the script will fail.

I wander if there is a way to create scripts using the BPM DLLs and Java or ASP.NET?

Thank you,

Rad

Re: Problem with BPM running Vugen Script that emulates a log in to BSM 9.12

You are focusing on the wrong issue. you got simple timeout issue the code which are you reading, is just java script code return by the server, it does not means that the condition occurred.
