MyBSM -> KPIs over time for SIS Monitors

Hi All,

we upgraded from BAC 8.07 to BSM 9.22 and I have another issue I am not able to solve.

I had a CMDB View with this structure:

TEST-VIEW1

- Application 1

-- SIS Monitor 1 as related CI

- Application 2

-- SIS Monitor 2 as related CI

- Application 3

-- SIS Monitor 3 as related CI

After the Upgrade I can see the same View but all Monitors are missing as related CIs. I put them in the View again but the disappear after saving. For this reason a KPI Over Time portlet has nothing to display.

If I create a brand new view with the following structure, I can see the Top View again but I am not able to select any of the monitors to see the KPI over time (see screenshot attached). They are all "grey"

TEST-VIEW2

- SIS Monitor 1

- SIS Monitor 2

- SIS Monitor 3

No difference if I put the monitors in a container (like Business Application), in this case they disappear again after saving.

A change in the Perspectives (APM perspective, System Monitors only Perspective etc.) seems to have no impact on the view.

Is there a way to see the KPIs Over Time for SIS Monitors?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Re: MyBSM -> KPIs over time for SIS Monitors

by default there is no KPI OT for monitor CIs. I also think you cannot enable it.

the more important question is why are you using the SiS monitors in your view and not the monitored CI? I suggest reading the Effective Modeling best practices.

Re: MyBSM -> KPIs over time for SIS Monitors

Thank you for the replies. I created a brand new model (and view) according to the suggestions included in the document and was able to solve the issue.

For the readers:

I had in BAC 8 following view:

VIEW1

- Application 1

-- SIS Monitor 1 as related CI

- Application 2

-- SIS Monitor 2 as related CI

and so on...

In BSM 9.22 it works if built this way:

VIEW2

- Business Application 1

-- CI Collection 1

--- SIS Monitor 1

- Business Application 2

-- CI Collection 2

--- SIS Monitor 2

In myBSM the kpis over time shows the CI collection correctly.

Thanks and kind regards!
