Integrating third party system with BSM using HP BSMC: Licensing

Hi All,

We are integrating few third party products with BSM/OMi through BSMC, and this integration will be only limited to event and correlation management and also we will show dashbaord of these events in BSM. all the third pparty systems will be integrated through SNMP only.

In this case we are going to manually design CIs in RTSM and assign events to these CIs in order to show events with related CI, so do we require any kind of extra licenses here in this scenario, or there will be no license required for BSMC, or BSM/OMi other than the default one for BSM/OMi.

Also can we use SLM module for events(there is no metrics data available in BSM) only for fault management.

Please reply with your suggestions.

Regards,

If "event and correlation management" can be translated as "OMi including TBEC", then you have to have corresponding licenses in BSM. By "dashboard" I guess you mean Service Health and/or MyBSM. If so, no extra licenses for these applications are required because they are covered by BSM platform itself.

Yes, you can but you have to have SLM license to use SLM application in BSM. SLM will work on metrics anyway, and those metrics will represent HI status change caused by events. This is how SLM for events works.
