HP SiteScope - What causes the primary SiteScope to go to the Failover?

Dear Experts,

We are currently using SiteScope 11.22 installed on RHEL.

I was just curious about what causes the primary SiteScope to go to the Failover.

Like what if the primary SiteScope was running out of memory or something and had issues, would that cause the primary SiteScope to switch over to the Failover?

I understand if the primary SiteScope server somehow crashes or the SiteScope service somehow stops, that will automatically trigger the Failver SiteScope.

Is it configurable to tell the primary SiteScope when to switch over to the Failover?

Any advice on this is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

You are looking at the problem from the wrong end. It's not primary SiteScope that decides when to activate SiteScope Failover. It's SiteScope Failover that monitors health of SiteScope primary and if SiteScope primary becomes unavailable SiteScope Failover activates itself.

Please read SiteScope Failover Guide to get more details on how it works.
