Re: Failed to change the password for admin user BSM Upgarde

If this is not blocking, do not change the password now but finish the upgrade first, and change it after upgrade completion.

Hi PAT,

Thanks for the reply,

We are performing SDR upgrade BAC 8.07x to BSM 9.1x->9.2x

yes. its blocking , we cannot move to Next step->.

Please correct me, do we have to cancel the upgrade wizard could, in order finish upgrade wizard & run the upgrade wizard again.

Default BAC password we tried as the same BAC 8.07, but that is not working.

is there any work around to fix this issue.

Re: Failed to change the password for admin user BSM Upgarde

hi,

Restarting the upgrade wizard would be the ultimate attempt to solve this.

From the log details provided, i can see, the short hostname is in UPPERCASE, and the DNS suffix in lowercase, why is that?

from pool: dbType=(SQL Server); hostName=SDAQWDBAC01.qbeai.com; dbName=bac_management; userName=; server=SDAQWDBAC01.qbeai.com;

Please use LOWERCASE for the compete FQDN name.

I also see that "userName=;" is empty, although it should have the current user in there (admin)

Also, can you connect to the database using hostname, instance name and port using Microsoft's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection tool ?

And, is your SQL Server database set up in dynamic mode or static mode?

Please upload UPGRADE.ALL.LOG here.

Re: Failed to change the password for admin user BSM Upgarde

Hi Patw,

Thanks alot for replying.

we tried with FQDN with upper case as well.

Belwo is answer of your query

1)I also see that "userName=;" is empty, although it should have the current user in there (admin)

we are using window authentication to connecto to the DataBase.

2) can you connect to the database using hostname, instance name and port using Microsoft's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection tool ?

i checked the connectivity from BSM database brower & its connecting fine & DBverify has no issue

3) is your SQL Server database set up in dynamic mode or static mode?

here are you refering to the port details 1433 or 1434 , we have all ready completed the steps till Schema upgarde sucesfully  as you see in screen shots.

i have attached the upgrade all log.

Re: Failed to change the password for admin user BSM Upgarde

Hi,

I think this

>  we are using window authentication to connecto to the DataBase

is the problem.

QCCR1I75955 has been opened to fix the BSM 9.13 Upgrade Wizard so it is not misleading (showing options for using Windows authentication during the upgrade).

For the Upgrade Wizard to work you would need to swithc to SQL authetication. Once the upgrade is complete, you can switch back to Windows authentication to run BSM 9.
