Certificate Server have a status "Aborted".

[ Edited ]

Hi experts,

I have a BSM 9.20 on RHEL 5.5 connected to Oracle 11gR2. During the starting of BSM services I've got the following Certificate Server status:

ovcs OV Certificate Server SERVER Aborted

The commands -restart, -kill and -start doesn't help:

[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc -restart
(ctrl-7) Error in the target component.
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc
ovbbccb OV Communication Broker CORE (3894) Running
ovcd OV Control CORE (3886) Running
ovcs OV Certificate Server SERVER Aborted
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc -restart
(ctrl-7) Error in the target component.
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc
ovbbccb OV Communication Broker CORE (3894) Running
ovcd OV Control CORE (3886) Running
ovcs OV Certificate Server SERVER Aborted
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc -kill
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc
(ctrl-111) Ovcd is not yet started.
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc -start
(ctrl-7) Error in the target component.
[root@bsm-dps ~]# ovc
ovbbccb OV Communication Broker CORE (11964) Running

bbcutil have a long time-out:

[root@bsm-dps ~]# bbcutil -ping https://bsm-dps

bsm-dps: status=eServiceOK coreID=70cba2b0-1f63-7565-0cb9-d60f37da45c8
         bbcV=11.03.031 appN=ovbbccb appV=11.03.031 conn=1 time=10012 ms

[root@bsm-dps ~]# bbcutil -ping http://bsm-dps

http://bsm-dps: status=eServiceOK coreID=70cba2b0-1f63-7565-0cb9-d60f37da45c8
          bbcV=11.03.031 appN=ovbbccb appV=11.03.031 conn=1 time=3 ms

If I delete a coordinates of DNS-server from the OS network settings and run "ovc -restart" again, "ovcs" will start up correctly and bbcutil will work without time-out. But I need a DNS server =)

Firewall is disabled.

How to start ovcs process correctly?

Please, could anybody suggest or advise me?

Thanks and regards,

Mikhail

Hello,

can you check if the coreid from the server resource group matches with the CA certificate

> ovcoreid -ovrg server

In addition can you check the version of BBC

> ovbbccb -version

And you could try start the certificate server manually to see the output

> /opt/OV/lbin/sec/ovcs

Re: Certificate Server have a status "Aborted".

Hi,

This problem was resolved.

My DNS-server did not support IPv6 and RHEL OS was configured to use a IPv6. It caused a "bbcutil -ping" time-out and a fail during a ovcs start.

I disabled IPv6 on both BSM servers and BSM Connector server, run "ovc -restart" and ovcs started correctly.

Thanks for reply, Robert!

Regards,

Mikhail
