BAC 8.04 and Java

Hello,

We just install BAC 8.04 and integrate it with Diagnostic and Sitescope. When trying to access BAC through Internet explorer 9 with  java 6 update 29 everything seem to work great, except when we are trying to access the Ucmdb function. IE would frooze up and we have to shut down the browser.

We have found out that java 5 update 22 work great with Ucmdb but does not meet the requirement for Diagnostic.

Can you someone shed some light onto this issue as to what the reccommended Java/IE version? setting? etc

I've attached the Java log file for Java 6 update 5 (we've tried many version of java)

Re: BAC 8.04 and Java

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response.

I've tried your suggesstion with the following spec:

Window XP

IE8

Java 6 update 20

I was able to access sitescope & diagnostic but as soon as I tried to load the Ucmdb page the java got stuck and frooze again. I've attached the java log file.

Any idea as to what is causing this?

Thank you,

Chuong

Re: BAC 8.04 and Java

verify

that the browser is using the correct Java version and disable

earlier versions. To do so, choose

Tools > Internet Options >

Advanced

tab, locate the Java (Sun) item and select the check

box for the correct Java version, click

OK, close the browser,

 and reopen it.

If you are having trouble opening Java applets in the user interface, try one

or both of the following:

If you are using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options >

Connections

> Local Area Network (LAN) Settings. Clear the following

options:

Automatically detect settings and Use automatic configuration

script

.

Select Control Panel > Java > General tab > Network Settings > select

Direct connection

option (and not the default option to Use browser

settings

).

Cheers!

Re: BAC 8.04 and Java

Hello,

This is the only version of java I've installed on my computer. I've verify that both of the setting in IE and Java are change like you ask and it still not working. All UI are able to load except for Ucmdb.

If i were to switch back to java5u22 then Ucmdb would load fine but i cant load diagnostic.

Any idea?

Thank again!!!
