HP ALM Adoption Rises: What you need to know.

This week, HP Software announced two customer testimonials showcasing the success they have seen adopting HP Application Lifecycle Management to ensure success in modern software projects.    HP Application Lifecycle Management is a core component of the HP IT Performance Suite for Application Transformation.

In the announcement, HP showcased enterprise success with HP Application Lifecycle Management 11 deployments at CIBER and at Fonterra, including how HP Application Lifecycle Management 11 helps optimizes all phases of the application development lifecycle, including requirements definition and management, project planning and tracking, application development, software quality assurance, and application performance validation.

 

Better Software, Higher Quality, Faster Delivery at Fonterra

 

The Fonterra Co-operative Group customer success story focused on how consistent, repeatable, and standardized the software development lifecycle process has become with HP Application Lifecycle Management, which in turn empowers better faster software delivery and higher quality (and therefore, better software.)  Sherry Ludlam, one of the leaders in the Fonterra’s IT department said it best, quoting the HP public announcement from last week:

 

“The number of application releases, upgrades and updates continually increases each year, making it a challenge to quickly deliver quality software,   By using consistent, repeatable and standardized processes together with HP ALM 11, we can support the increased volume of change requests and deliver higher quality applications that keep our business competitive in the market.”

Jay Castleberry, the interim CIO at CIBER, was also featured in this announcement.  What is interesting about the CIBER deployment of HP IT Performance Suite for Application Transformation is that CIBER has built a cloud-based deployment of the HP software solutions to help organizations ensure success in an affordable pay-as-you-go structure of managed services.  To quote the CIBER interim CIO featured in the HP announcement,

 

“Our clients want cloud-based applications that improve overall application quality without the investment needed to do it themselves.  CIBER’s deep testing skills and experience coupled with HP’s market-leading performance testing software create an affordable pay-as-you-go structure or managed service offering that makes quality and performance testing accessible to organizations and projects of all sizes.”

 

Both of these case studies showcase how all major stakeholders that support the full application lifecycle were empowered by the HP IT Performance Suite for Applications.

In my conversations with HP’s customer facing organizations, and with our top customers, I continue to see common trends in adopted practices of developing and delivering business software

 

Where traditional SDLC processes focused on gates, documents, and hand-offs, the modern application delivery lifecycle is about real-time collaboration, and our most successful customers are adopting a system where people can work together, where information is shared fluidly, and where changes are constantly tracked.
