FAQ: How do I get access to HP Networking switches to test our SNMP-based management application?

I've had this question a couple of times, so thought I'd post the answer here.

 

We don’t have a virtual HP Networking lab for use by partners, so the only option is to buy kit through the AlliianceOne equipment discount program.

 

SNMP MIBs are available for download for each switch here (under software downloads)
http://pro-networking-h17007.external.hp.com/us/en/support/converter/index.aspx

 

If you design against the MIBs, and tests on one Provision switch (e.g. HP 2530) and one Comware one (e.g. HP 3100) for validation purposes that should be sufficient to cover the wired switches.
